RALGA’s mission being to strive for and build an efficient, effective, transparent and accountable local government system in Rwanda, it is aware that there is need for competent politicians and civil servants. Their capacities have to be developed through trainings for the mission to be realized and for the changes that are aspired for to be effective.

Different approaches have been used among which one can note the training of trainers and training of key staff members of districts for better service delivery in their respective fields. Short term tailor made training courses were also organized and used for district officials’ capacity building.

Besides, RALGA being a new organization with goals and practices that seek to further and support decentralizations in a traditionally centralized system of government, capacity building and training activities are just necessary.

The objective remains strengthening the capacity of districts and Kigali City to respond to basic issues in the lives of their citizens; specifically by helping them determine, design and implement efficient solutions to their service delivery needs.
